Wave of interest for first cruise holiday expo
Seventeen international cruise companies will take part in the first cruise tourism exhibition to be held in Hong Kong.迷你倉 The ``Cruise Holiday Expo'' will be held at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal from September 20 to 22, the Travel Industry Council announced yesterday. Those taking part include Crystal Cruises, Costa Cruises, Holland America Line, MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, Princess Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, Silversea Cruises and Star Cruises. About 30 local travel agencies will also be taking part. The first day is set aside for trade visitors only, and the public will be admitted on the last two days with an admission fee of HK$10. ``Some companies will be offering package deals,'' the council said. The expo will also include se自存倉inars on the latest trends and information on popular cruise itineraries will be made available. Expo visitors will be able to win lucky draw prizes, including cruise vacations. Shuttle buses will run from East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station and apm shopping mall in Kwun Tong to the exhibition venue. Meanwhile, leaks are still being detected in parts of the terminal, acting tourism commissioner Rosanna Law Shuk-pui, said. Contractors have been urged to identify and repair them. Despite the leaks, the terminal will be officially opened at the end of this month, Law said. The commission met with taxi operators to discuss their arrangements at the terminal.
