Phone app will track EP <<<code>>> violations

Source: Journal Star, Peoria, Ill.迷你倉價錢Aug. 07--EAST PEORIA -- By the end of the year, East Peoria residents will be able to photograph their neighbor's garbage-strewn yard with their <<>> or tablet and ship it directly to an electronic device monitored by the city's <<>> enforcement officers.And that's only the beginning."There are a lot of eyes and ears out on the street that can join in on this so that the city can provide better, more efficient service to our citizens," Commissioner Gary Densberger said Tuesday.He was referring to Access East Peoria, a new phone application that will eventually be available to residents of the city and will allow them to connect with city departments and officials with a few finger taps on a <<>> <<>>. The system is currently being used internally by the city's <<>> enforcement department to identify and track <<>> violators. In the coming months, public works, police and fire officials and employees will be trained on how to effectively use the system to their own benefits, before it is launched in December for use by the general public.The application will be available to residents as a free <<>> to their smartphones and tablets. The system comes at a cost to the city of $5,400 a year to PublicStuff, the company that provides the subscription <<>>. The city is committed to just one year of service, but could extend the contract with council approval, according to Matt Berger, the city's Information Techno迷你倉庫ogy coordinator.The program is being used by <<>> enforcement to chart and track <<>> violations across the city. Violations called in to the department- tall grass, garbage, weeds, junk, abandoned cars, to name a few -- are recorded on a map of the city and are identified by an animated pinhead that marks the location. <<>> enforcement officials then visit the locations and begin the process to get the problems fixed.When the system becomes interactive with the public, residents will be able to circumvent the traditional phone call and paper work complaint with a request made directly to the department. Each city department will adapt its own unique uses for the technology.Berger said that because training is ongoing and <<>> is still being programmed, it's too soon to market and launch the system for public use. When it is ready, he will be better able to describe the steps required to <<>> and use the application.One person figured it out already."We received our first request yesterday," Berger said.Berger said he's not concerned that system will generate an overload of complaints about <<>> violators."I don't see that happening," Berger said.
